We had crossed paths a few times over the years, but David was too busy
to socialize and both of us were involved in other relationships. In the
fall of 2001, we were assigned to the same project and to a team based
out of Albany, NY. We took a business trip together the week after Thanksgiving,
and became friends. About a month later, David decided he was interested
in Christine, so he cornered her at his New Year's Eve party. After some
persuasion, David convinced Christine to give the relationship a shot.
We have never been apart since. (And no, David never gets any credit for
being right about the relationship…) We got engaged on October 5, 2003. David managed to convince Christine
to get up early and go for a walk under the pretense of exercise. We walked
to the Jefferson Memorial, one of Christine's favorite places in DC. As
we were coming down the stairs, David got down on one knee and proposed.
Christine interrupted him halfway through, however David insists he finished
"for the most part". David booked a night at a Bed & Breakfast
in Tannytown, MD for the night so we could get away and let it all sink
in. It was a wonderful weekend. We like to think of ourselves as 'cute', and those of you who know us
well can understand why! We are that couple who is always holding hands
and staring at each other. Christine was convinced that would end after
a few months of dating but two years later we are still at it (insert
eye rolling from our friends here)! We love to travel, drink wine, and keep up with friends. We hardly watch
movies, which must mean we are out and about more often then we realize.
We've also become significantly more proficient at Scrabble. You can see
what we've been up to in the Photo Gallery.
